Both Central Bedfordshire Council and the Forest of Marston Vale have grant funds which can be applied to for tree planting and hedgerow establishment. Whilst this is mainly helpful in areas of open space, such as Ampthill Great Park, or within the Millennium Forest Parishes, ACCG and Ampthill Town Council can apply for micro projects (5 trees is the minimum) on smaller open spaces in the built area of the town.
ACCG members have already started to provide suggestions of areas where we could look at tree planting.
If you have suggestions, please contact us on hello@ampthillclimatechange.co.uk. We would especially like to hear from groups of neighbours, or residents living close to an open space which could benefit from tree or hedgerow establishment.
